GOD AT WORK

The Real Worth of Your Work
Pastor Doug Heisel – August 24, 2025

Ecclesiastes 3:9 - What does the worker gain from his toil?

What God wants you to know about your work

1. The God who works made you to WORK — productively, responsibly, and full of JOY.

Genesis 1:28 & 31 - God created man in His own image, male and female. And God said to them, “Fill the earth. Subdue it. And rule over it.” ... God saw all that He had made, and it was very good...

1 Timothy 6:17 - …put your hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

2. The wisest financial decision is to put GOD FIRST in your work and finances.

Proverbs 3:5-6 In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success.

Proverbs 3:9 - Honor the Lord with everything you own; give Him the first and the best.

3. The work you do in your “FIELD” can benefit the work of His “HOUSE,” so that you get to be part of something greater than just your own endeavors.

Malachi 3:10-12 - Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse so that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the LORD Almighty.

“Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the LORD Almighty.

Your work has sacred value, even if it has no apparent eternal value.

4. Generosity flows from a mindset of BLESSING, not SACRIFICE. It is ultimately what you GET TO,

be in on, not what you have to GIVE UP.

Proverbs 11:30 - The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who is wise saves lives.

5. The Lord is always looking for MORE people who believe He still wants to do greater things in us, through us, and for us.

Proverbs 11:24-25 - The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller. The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.
