Are You Willing?

Pastor Heidi Elizarraraz - October 26, 2025

Genesis 24:1-5 — Abraham was now very old, and the Lord had blessed him in every way. He said to the senior servant in his household, the one in charge of all that he had, “Put your hand under my thigh. I want you to swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of earth, that you will not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I am living, but will go to my country and my own relatives and get a wife for my son Isaac.”

The servant asked him, “What if the woman is unwilling to come back with me to this land? Shall I then take your son back to the country you came from?”

1. We all have freedom of CHOICE but we do not have freedom of CONSEQUENCES.

John 6:40 — For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.

Mark 16:15 — “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”

2. Jesus’ last command should be our first PRIORITY.

Genesis 24:58 — So they called Rebekah and asked her, “Will you go with this man?”

“I will go,” she said.

3. The greatest thing you can do is be WILLING to say YES to do the will of God.

New Series: Thank-FULL
& Baptism Sunday

Life Group Discussion & Questions

BREAKING THE ICE:

Next Sunday is Baptism Sunday. Share your baptism story.

DIGGING IN:

Read the story of Isaac and Rebekah in Genesis 24.

1. What do you learn about Rebekah from this story? Share your observations.

2. Rebekah possesses a “spirit of yes” for what she believes is God’s plan for her, even though it takes her beyond her current story and what she is familiar with. Where has the Lord challenged you to step out of what is familiar or comfortable? How did that impact you?

3. From Heidi’s message and story, what encouraged or challenged you the most?

BRINGING IT HOME:

One of the points of Sunday’s message was that Jesus’ last command should be our first priority. Let that continue to challenge and stretch you. Believe that the Lord has placed people around that you are meant to influence for Him. Watch for “divine appointments” this week.
